Willington’s Boiler stripped ready for quotes

Chris and the Team worked remarkably hard this weekend, finishing off removing the tubes from the boiler. Here we see some remarkable shots from inside the boiler, which has now also had its tube plate partly removed. Meanwhile the wheels were re-painted ahead of re-wheeling and further holes drilled in the cylinders ready for the cleating. Many Thanks to everyone, Chris,Colin, Richard P, Quentin, Mick, Barry, Max, Bill, David and Lynn. Also saying a fond farewell to Max who is returning to the Carribean (see you next year!)

Member’s Day

A hugely successful members day in Llangollen was enjoyed by nearly forty members who were able to view the progress made to the locomotive. The day was enhanced by the positioning of Willington Hall’s boiler alongside the locomotive ready for work to start on preparing it for eventual overhaul.

A busy working weekend, which also saw 5199 AGM and shareholder’s day out. Grateful thanks to Chris Moore and the team of Richard Pumphrey, Colin Hodgin, Paul Nichols, Richard Statham and Quentin McGuinness who had a productive time of working on the loco and securing the boiler onto the trolley, in preparation for the forthcoming Members Day.
